A jewel of a house and restaurant. It looks as a small castle on top of a small hill overlooking the Filipstad and the Color line ferry as well as E18. The house used to be the residence of the director-general of the state railroad, but is now entirely and successfully transformed into a multi-room restaurant where you easily will find yourself comfortably serviced by the staff and what they offer. The food is great, french inspired, so is the wine list, a bit short of Italian wines, and all a bit expensive, but you will survive.
We had a lunch reservation for a work event there at 12:00 with 15 people. No tables, etc were ready at arrival (the waitresses just seemed to be arriving at work). Took a long time to get any drinks. Food were scarce and everyone ate more lunch when getting back to the office. McDonalds has better service. A huge dissappoipntment.
Fantastic restaurant, amazingly tasty food and pleasant service. Right away at entrance noticed perfect background music and that, combined with cozy atmosphere, gave even better dining experience then expected. Definitely a place to visit!
