Was Gustaw Maciejewska at Maido a mag?
very good izakaya with everything on request. I tested it a little cold, but dirty as you need. an okonomiaki that we even changed the filling for me (as I don't eat pork that I asked shrimp instead) very good choice of alcohols also with bcp of possibilities even just to drink. and the warm atmosphere of the family. Visited for lunch and found this Japanese cuisine restaurant to be refreshing -- well prepared, tasty, well presented food, with friendly service. It is casual dinning but quick enough if you are fitting in lunch in a busy day -- and it seemed to be adapted Japanese rather than simply the limited traditional menu you expect. They combined sushi and rice into a bowl and I found it very tasty.
Great place for a dinner between friends. Japanese tapas were great, home-made desserts really good. Negative point : smells bad, no proper air extraction system....
This is a restaurant held by Japanese, who are cleary enthusiastic but judging from the style, self-learned. The cooking is very typical Japanese home cooking. The decoration more self-made than professional, however nothing really wrong with the interior except for the burnt oil smell. The ventilation system is inadequate. We had a menu déjeuner 12 €, mini karaage chicken 5 €, chicken onigiri (two) 5 €, fried tofu 5 €, edamame, cold tea. The menu had a starter of tamagoyaki, sprouts and spinach, small vegetable tempura, potato salad. It was all good. Nothing fancy. The main course on the menu was chirashi sushi. It was definitely a home made version of chirashi (no ambition in cutting of the fish), but it was quite fresh so it was good! Some of the fish were better than others (there was a good selection of different kinds).Karaage was very average. Onigiri was a bit disappointing (for example bonito instead of very home ordinary kind of chicken would've been more satisfying). Tofu was surprisingly good (nice a sauce and mushrooms, though the batter on tofu was on the verge of tasting too oily). Edamame was a bit disappointing too because it was cold and not the freshest possible kind. Cold japanese tea (the plastic bottle kind) was very refreshing and nice to get in Nice.Curry seems to be available only at evening. We probably have to go again to taste the evening menu! Gyoza was available as a part of the menu on lunch, but we didn't try it yet.All in all, don't expect gourmet cooking but home made instead. That way you may be satisfied with this place. For more upscale experience, there is Kamogawa (and Ma Yucca is somewhat similar to Maido, although slightly more upscale too). If you want gyoza or Japanese curry at evening, this is probably your place!
Excellent!!! One of the best tapas. Simple but very refined recipes with a mix of perfect flavors! High service, pleasant smiling welcome and listens a lot to test we will return without any hesitation!!
I just discovered this pretty Japanese restaurant. And I loved it! First of all, the façade of the restaurant that evokes the japon, then the decoration and atmosphere of the room, and finally the reception and very pleasant services. Japanese tapas (gyozas, octopus donuts, beef tataki, Japanese fried chicken, etc.) a pleasure
