YAY, it’s finally open! I couldn't be happier. I was so disappointed when I learned it had closed, and I've been hoping for its return ever since. This place serves the best sushi in the Heights. What Julissa Fermin dislikes about Sushi Yu 2:
Worst service ever! How you send sushi not cut into pieces? And it seems as if they looked for the saltiest soy sauce ever to send with the sushi! First and last time I order form this place. Very disappointing cause I need a good sushi place by me. View all feedback.
YAY, it’s finally open! I couldn't be happier. I was so disappointed when I learned it had closed, and I've been hoping for its return ever since. This place serves the best sushi in the Heights. Their spicy tuna is incredibly tasty and truly unique. They used to offer the "Empire Roll," which is honestly the best roll I've ever had, and I really hope they consider bringing it back. My only suggestion would be to make the spicy mayo the traditional way using Kewpie mayo and Sriracha. However, the sushi is so amazing that I can overlook the mayo. Please, stay open!
I ordered from this restaurant via Uber Eats, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend it. The fish had an unpleasant taste or aftertaste, and the ginger I received was spoiled.
I decided to satisfy my sushi cravings on a whim and checked out this restaurant. I ordered the 181 Special Roll, which includes cooked yellowtail and a spicy chef's sauce, along with a serving of shumai (six shrimp dumplings). Both dishes were delightful. The shrimp dumplings were so good that I regretted not ordering an extra portion! The special roll was fantastic; it had been a while since I enjoyed cooked yellowtail, and the spicy sauce paired perfectly with it. I also appreciated the simple, clean bodega-style atmosphere of the restaurant. It was definitely worth the walk for me, and the staff was friendly as well. I highly recommend this place!
I'm not sure what others are saying, but this is one of the best sushi spots in NYC. I've been a regular for a decade, and I've always found the sushi to be delicious and reasonably priced. It's unfortunate that it closed, but I have a deep love for this place.
