Feedback
Maypop offers a unique blend of Southeast Asian and South Louisiana flavors with a creative menu. Some dishes were highlights while others fell short, but overall, the food was interesting and tasty. The service was a mix of very slow and prompt with knowledgeable staff. The atmosphere was described as classy, with a quiet setting perfect for conversation. Prices were considered a good value for the quality of the food. The restaurant is recommended for those looking for a different dining experience in New Orleans, with standout dishes like the black drum and Hot Pot.
My favorite restaurant in new orleans was maypop! the mix of Asian aromes and dressed merged with classic louisiana let me eat speechless! each dish was beautifully made by executive chef michael gulotta, with the perfect balance of seasoned and taste. my favorite food of the night that is one is the blue crab dumpling. they are with a delicious kokosmilch and mushroom sauce with so much taste on the dish. the service was wonderful and the mood was perfect for a funny Friday night out!
What an incredible restaurant! I am a solo travel partner and was so excited to come here. wellted that I could only order for 1 because I would have loved to taste every dish! eating here is so unique and I loved the ingredients and combination of aromen. I didn't eat this thing after home in london. the fried cat was beautiful (I rarely see catfish on a menu) and the sticky pig was from this world. the brot is exceptional. essnotdashing)
We had a party of eight and were just on the hyatt on the road. this restaurant is very unique. limited menu, but everyone loved their food and drinks.
There is fusion, and there is fusion. This is a melding of worlds you have to taste to believe. Everything on the menu from the signature tart to the bread to the staples (one or two) is a delightful rendering of southeast Asia (Cambodia/Vietnam) and south Louisiana. I had the Hot Pot. I didn't like hot pot in China, but at May Pop? It is a beautifully developed broth with clams and shrimp and collards and a lovely thin pasta swimming with chilis in rich pork broth that satisfied every part of me. Our waiter was knowledgeable and funny, a bit edgy but always helpful. We explored as much as we could and none of us regretted our choices. Be adventurous, or stay home. This is a delightful evening of food.
