Juan's opened in 1997 before Mardi Gras, aiming to fill the gap in ultra-casual dining in New Orleans. Originally a Mission-style punk rock burrito joint, we focused on fresh ingredients and offered many vegetarian options - a novelty at the time. Over the years, we evolved into the world's first Creole Taqueria, blending not-very-authentic Mexican food with local influences. In 2002, we expanded to Mid-City, bringing in new talent and creating unique specials. Our latest addition is a sophisticated dive in the CBD, where we continue to innovate with our Creole-Mex cuisine.
La Marea is a restaurant that has received a range of reviews. The food is widely praised, with highlights being the mozzarella and tomato salad, as well as the shrimp and scallops over polenta. The menu offers a wide variety of options and the service is top-notch. However, some customers have complained about the noise level, feeling that it detracts from the overall dining experience. Despite some mixed feedback, many diners appreciate the quality of the food and service, with one reviewer even dubbing it a "great dining experience." The atmosphere is described as elegant and calm, suitable for adults and older children. Overall, La Marea seems to offer a delicious dining option that is worth a try.
