Was Nikolai Paetsch at Lindwurmstüberl a mag?
Was here again yesterday, great, as always. It was a little warmer, we sat on the roof with the sun shining in the late afternoon until it disappeared a little after 6 p.m. For Munich, first-class price-performance correlation, as is well known View all feedback.
What Michael Schuett dislikes about Lindwurmstüberl:
Unfortunately, the cheese spaetzle wasn't that good, relatively creamy and less cheesy. The espresso was very thin and without crema. When we asked, we were told that this is correct and that it has to be that way... View all feedback.
We had walked by here several times and the roast chicken looked soooo good we decided to give it a try. This is a very warm cozy place full of locals enjoying their food and beer. There are English menus but the German menu has...more items on it. There are daily lunch and dinner specials. The chicken was as good as it looked and I devoured it. You get a of a roast chicken and a choice of German potato salad vinegar not mayo or fries. I got the potato salad which was good but not as good as my motherinlaw's she's Bavarian My husband had the pancake soup just because his mother used to make it and he hadn't had it in at least years. Naturally he said it was not as good as his Mutti's but he did thoroughly enjoy it. My husband said the beer was the best he had during our week stay in Munich. I don't like beer so I had a nice glass of white wine. We shared a nutella crepe for dessert and left with full tummies. The staff was friendly and all spoke English well. We thought the prices were very reasonable for the quantity and quality of food. In summer there is a rooftop terrace, there is also an enclosed sun porch for dining
This place is great. It seemed to us to be a place were the locals frequented. We were treated well, and we liked everything we ordered. The menu had quite a lot to chose from. It's off the beaten path, and a perfectly fine place...to stop in
We've been to dozens of bars like this in Germany over the years. They do what they do very well. We new what we were going to get before we walked in. Good beer, good food and a great atmosphere. We weren't disappointed; the place was crowded on a Wednesday night. The waiters were a bit abrupt, and the only time our server raised a smile was when we left a tip. The service however was good and quick,as was the food. We both had a schweinhaxe ,as good as any we've had dozens of times in other restaurants. We enjoyed our evening and the beer was great!
We've been guests at the Lindwurmstüberl several times. Especially when the weather's nice, it's fantastic on the spacious roof terrace in a superb central location. Delicious (Augustiner) beer and good food, at a reasonable price for Munich. The service is exceptionally friendly and personable. We're deducting one star because unfortunately, you can't order side dishes individually, so you can't order something like dumplings with sauce or a portion of fries for a light snack, which can be a bit annoying at times. Otherwise, a great place, I always enjoy coming here.
Three meals, three excellent dishes. Good service, hearty Bavarian food. Highly recommended!
