We waited over an hour for our meal. We're told it takes time when the food is prepared from fresh.Veggies were from frozen. How long does it take to cook a few pieces of liver from fresh?? Server was very apologetic. Will not return. View all feedback.
I waited until we reached our destination to open and eat my beef dip and salad, and I was equally let down by the tiny portions. We had requested a large salad but received what I can only assume was a side salad. The sandwich itself was also small, and once again, it was nothing special.
I just visited for Taco Tuesday, and it was fantastic! We tried every taco on the menu, and the pulled pork was absolutely scrumptious. The fish and buffalo chicken tacos were also outstanding. It’s such a delight to have such great food at our local tavern in Mount Forest. A few weeks ago, I stopped by for lunch, and the food was excellent then too. The fries and club sandwich were truly amazing. I can't wait for the patio to open! It seems like there's a wonderful new chef at the helm!
I was pleasantly surprised! To be honest, I went in with low expectations. We were passing through Mount Forest and needed a place for the family to eat. The food was fantastic! The server was very friendly, and the pool tables added to the fun atmosphere. It seems like the place has recently undergone some renovations, as it doesn't resemble the older photos I've seen. The bathrooms could use some improvement, but we would definitely come back. Cheers!
First time out. We had read the article about the executive chef that had bought the place so we figured we would give it a try. We went on a Thursday evening figuring that would be a good pub night. The bar was disappointingly out of ciders and vodka. Started with the calamari. It was bland and under seasoned. I had the fish and chips. The piece was a good size but almost burnt on the outside and wet and under cooked on the inside. Not enjoyable. Fries were not anything special though they were pumped up in the article we read. My partner had the MoFo burger. It was strongly over seasoned with something and poorly cooked and cool. It was basically dry with a poor attempt at crispy onions on it and some lettuce. No bacon jam or at least we couldn’t taste it. Basically inedible. Service was great. She was trying hard to make up for the gaps at the bar and was very apologetic. We didn’t get her name but she gets the star. Super disappointed with the Tavern. We were looking forward to a good pub with some good food that we could walk to so both of us could drink. We won’t be back.
