My student abroad group visited Mario's farm and had the amazing experience of enjoying drinks on the patio and a 7 course lunch at La Bottera. The gnocchi melted in your mouth! I enjoyed the best sangria on the beautiful patio. I can imagine that being a beautiful wedding venue.
MUST GO TO WHEN IN NORTHERN ITALY! My favorite restaurant ever! The tour of the farm tops off the whole experience!
I visited La Bottera back in May and let me tell you it embodied everything I thought Italy was about. Mario, the owner was kind enough to give us a tour of his beautiful farm where he makes amazingly delicious cheeses!! After our tour Mario and his staff at La Bottera treated us to a 12 course meal with each item described and plated to perfection. 10 stars
When first walking up to La Bottera its a head scratcher. Terra-cotta roof, mud building painted yellow. Then Boom!!! The backyard was cleanly landscaped with a beautiful view of the Alps directly in the back. The building has that Italian charm that has been lightly renovated to accommodate the vast majority of people coming to enjoy Mario's delicious food. The dining area is clean and elegantly decorated to adjust to any type of party partaking at La Bottera. After a 12 course meal we had a little walk around the property. Mario keeps the cellar at the right temperature to help properly age his cheese which is made 500 feet down the road. The restaurant is the epitome of farm to table.
