Nestled in Cheat Lake, Ruby Ketchy's has been a beloved diner since 1958, offering both nostalgia and hearty comfort food. While many patrons rave about the friendly service, quick meals, and satisfying dishes like the Reuben sandwich and apple pie, others report inconsistencies—overcooked eggs, bland home fries, and less-than-ideal fried chicken. Despite varied experiences, the homey atmosphere evokes a sense of culinary heritage. Though recent complaints highlight service and food quality issues, this diner has carved a special place in the hearts of locals and visitors alike, making it a must-try for those in the area.

However, after returning for lunch and dinner, my perspective has changed significantly. The burgers and sandwiches are substantial and satisfying! Some of the daily specials are excellent, and the service has improved, especially when it comes to refreshing drinks. They serve a delightful diner-style salad and have a great selection of cakes. This is a charming, no-frills eatery that delivers traditional diner food,... View all feedback.
What User dislikes about Ruby Ketchy's:
Our server was terrible she only check on us one time. She didn 't have a problem telling people she was the only one there but spent her time talking more than anything. Food was terrible nothing was homemade the gravy was definitely canned or that 's the pinkest sausage I 've ever seen. Wasn 't worth 30$. Her attitude was rude and not pleasant. Very snobby . I had an excellent breakfast at a fantastic price. I ordered the half omelet, which consisted of just 3 eggs with cheese. The service was top-notch: I dined in and enjoyed my experience. The cost per person was between $10 and $20. I would rate the food a solid 5, the service also a 5, and the atmosphere a 3.
I’ve heard positive reviews about this restaurant, so I decided to try it for breakfast. Unfortunately, the eggs were overcooked and bland, and the home fries weren’t very good either. On the bright side, the ham steak, muffin, and jam were tasty. However, the coffee was quite disappointing. Overall, I would rate the food a 2, the service a 4, and the atmosphere a 4.
This is one of my favorite places in all of Morgantown/Cheat Lake. However sadly it is closed! Went back for some old time memories and great food and the entire place is being gutted and another different restaurant is being put in as of august 12, 2024.
