This recently relocated A&W offers a mix of warm nostalgia and modern fast food excitement. Patrons have celebrated the flavorful Seasoned Salmon rice bowls, Baja Fish Tacos, and convenient drive-thru service. Despite a few mixed experiences regarding staff efficiency and order accuracy, many appreciate the friendly demeanor of the team. The restaurant's charming 80s diner vibe adds to its allure, making it a delightful stop for families and fast food enthusiasts alike. However, limited amenities like a broken ice cream machine and the rarity of A&W locations can hinder the experience.
We went out of our way to get an A&W Root Beer float, only to find out that the ice cream machine was unfortunately broken! I have three Long John Silver's restaurants near me, but there are no A&W locations at all! There are probably only four left in the entire country!
I had a delightful fast food experience at A&W, which are quite rare to find nowadays, so coming across one was a pleasant surprise. As soon as I discovered an A&W Long John Silver's, I knew I had to stop in. The food is enjoyable overall, and the standout items are definitely the cheese curds and Root Beer Floats. The staff is friendly, and the cozy interior creates a welcoming atmosphere. Although the decor hasn’t changed much since it first opened in Morehead, that adds to the nostalgic and comforting vibe. The entire restaurant has a charming 80s diner aesthetic. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for good fast food and a touch of nostalgia!
The root beer tasted far from fresh, as they used 2-liter bottles. The food was cold, the root beer was flat, and I even found a clam in my cheese curds.
