Feedback
Boom J's has become a culinary hotspot, celebrated for its flavorsome Jamaican dishes and generous portions, though patrons report a mixed experience. While some rave about the tender curried goat and delectable roti, others found dishes lacking authenticity and quality. Notably, the oxtails and rice received criticism for being underwhelming, with reports of bones dominating the meat. Despite occasional discrepancies in meal quality, the bustling atmosphere, friendly service, and tempting barbecue aroma contribute to its charm. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a long-time fan, Boom J's promises a memorable, comforting taste of Jamaica in Montreal.
The food is excellent. The chicken is cooked in a smoker to order, so you may have to wait for it to be ready before you can eat.
Forget about your lunch or dinner plans. Are they canceled? Great. Now, head over to Boom J's, whether by walking, biking, or driving, and indulge in the most delicious roti you have ever tried.
This is not the same place as before Covid. It's totally different taste totally different. I don't know if it was sold or not but it's not the same the oxtail that I order it's not that dark brown gravy. It's really a light brown. It has no Jamaican authentic flavor whatsoever. The rice and peas were also not good and I'm just giving it a zero out of 10 I couldn't even finish it. The ox tails were mostly bone very little meat on the rocks to just overall disappointed. I will not be returning it's just not the same..
Oxtail is one the most expensive meals on the menu, I got two orange coloured oxtail a whole a lot watered down sauce and carrots. For the price the expectation of Boom J’s they should be embarrassed to say you serve some Caribbean cuisine. They juice though 10/10
