Noja is a restaurant that has received mixed reviews from its customers. While some have raved about the delicious food and excellent service, others have been disappointed by overcooked dishes and high prices. The ambience and overall experience seem to be positive aspects of dining at Noja, with some customers praising the romantic atmosphere and attentive staff. The menu offers a variety of Mediterranean and Afghan dishes, with some standout items like the lamb kabob and saffron rice receiving high praise. Overall, Noja seems to be a hit or miss dining experience, with some customers eager to return for the quality food and service, while others may have been let down by the overpricing and lackluster dishes.
We had a nice dinner. My only issue is — why does it seem they have swordfish featured so often on the menu? It’s not really ideal especially considering all the better gulf fish options. But I always recommend this place and have been coming for many years.
Our celebration dinner on August 16th 2024 was acknowledged by the host and server. I liked that. Looking forward to similar regard, we ordered from the limited menu, which was pre-fix. Sometimes that works out, this time it didn’t. My 1st course, Pig Cheeks on a little potato pancake was quite tasty but the portion way too large for a pre-set, 3 course menu. My 2nd course was a very, very sad Spinach Salad. Overdressed to the point of sogginess and extremely vinegary. The main course for me was Duck breast, ordered medium rare, but served quite rare. A duo of mashed yellow and sweet potatoes with fresh green beans were well prepared. With 4 glasses of wine, 2 coffees and 1Crème Brûlée then a tip, our bill for the three of us was just around $350. Also, the room , at 6pm was too warm for my taste. I do not plan to return.
Party of 4 dinning on the $65 menu option. Pork cheeks and scallops appetizers were excellent. Salads and soup very nice. Line caught snapper, encrusted swordfish, and hanger steak were good. Lamb chops, a$10 up charge, were overcooked, should have been medium rare but were over well done. Crème brûlée needed more time to set. Drinks and wine were fine. Mark, our server, was spot on even offered replacement chops but I thanked him but no. Overall a good experience, good flavors and seasoning on the dishes. Just a bit of fine tuning to make exceptional.
The ambiance and comfortable elegance at Noja is one of a kind, and represents Mobile at it's finest. We were really impressed with the menu, it offered great selections of cuisine for all tastes. And, the foodwas fantastic!! The Staff is nothing less than Completely Excellent.!! We really enjoyed our evening, it was very special..!!
I love a flavorful and tender steak. My excitement rises to the level of Buddy the Elf when Gimbel?s manager announces Santa will be arriving. When I find a great steak house. The hostess was accommodating and helpful on the phone. The service?.Impeccable. They offer fresh sweetened and unsweetened iced tea. My drink was never empty, there were no empty plates on mytable. Pre bussing the table was just in time. My food came out all at once. Dessert was offered even after the closing timepassed. They did not rush me which I find a lot of servers learned that poor quality. The menu is a prix fixe, three coursemeal. There are several options to choose from. The menu is one page?. And they mastered the culinary art in these dishes. Theappetizers were great. The pork belly is fried and tasted similar to a cracklin of course! . The shrimp and scallops withParmesan was great with and without bread. The sauce was on point. The filet melted in your mouth?. best filet around Mobile. The lamb chops are such a great cut! They were also tender. It restored my faith in eating lamb chops. Excellent quality inmeat. So for the filet my meal appetizer, salad, entree was $75 instead of the regular $65 because I ordered filet. The meatportion for the filet was around 8 ounces. The Brussels sprouts were delicious, and I am not a BS fan. The potatoes paired wellwith the meal. This will be my go to spot. It?s cheaper than the New Orleans chain steakhouse and superior in quality. Becarful! The circular plate that the shrimp and scallops comes on?? if you put your utensils on it?.. you?ll clang and have thewhole restaurant looking at you, waiting for your celebratory speech.
