Double cheeseburger with pepper Jack cheese and fries. Couldn't have been any better. Ate with my mom and girlfriend and they had nothing but ooooohhhhhs ahhhhhhhs about how good it was. We will go back again. View all feedback.

I wish I could give this place 3 1/2 stars because it was better than a 3 but not quite a 4. We all had burgers, the patties themselves were prepared very well and tasty, the buns were toasted nicely, however, I ordered a mushroom and Swiss burger and it definitely was not Swiss cheese, it was more like a white American cheese, which really detracted from my enjoyment. Great burgers and fries after a long day of hiking! Nothing better than that! This small little town had a few other restaurants but this was the only one open on a Wednesday afternoon!! It made our decision easy and we will be back if we are I. The area.
Leisurely breakfast in Mitchell, Oregon, before driving up Buck Point Road and across Big Summit Prairie back to Prineville. This was a great way to start the day. Food was perfect: two eggs over medium with the whites done, hamburger patty well done, potatoes and sourdough toast, coffee, A-1 Sauce, green Tabasco, and ketchup. I'm pretty picky, and it couldn't have been better. I'm going to do a lot more stopping in out-of-the-way places. They can use the business, and I enjoy the local atmosphere more, now that I'm retired.
I have eaten here twice now, and both times have found the food better than expected. For making a decent burger, I give the Little Pine Cafe two stars. Having said that, this place has a lot of problems. Most notably, the restaurant is really dirty. The floors do not appear to have ever been mopped. The walls and appliances in the dining area are smeared with something. And the bathrooms were so dirty (I'll spare you the details) that my daughter chose to pee in a turnout up the road rather than use the Little Pine Cafe's restroom. While friendly, the service was sparse. We saw a waitress when we ordered and when the food was brought out, and that was it. We were never asked if we needed anything, or if everything was all right. When we needed to leave, I had to poke my head into the kitchen and ask for the check. I also didn't like being greeted by Fox News when I walked in. I chose to sit at the table furthest in the back as it was farthest from the blaring TV, but we could still hear Sean Hannity while we ate our burgers. I don't ever like being forced to listen to a TV while I eat, but having to listen to political propaganda was especially annoying. So if you are in Mitchell needing food and have no other options, this place will fill the void. If you can make it to the next town though, I'd recommend doing so.
I can't remember the last time I had a burger this good. My wife and I split their basic burger and asked to have mushrooms substituted for the onions...no problem, no extra charge, just a smile and great service.
