Johan Ginza has some of the tastiest pastries I have tried in Tokyo. Prices are affordable and due to the high turnover, the selection is vast and fresh. The chocolate croissant melts in the mouth.
Wish I could have tried their freshly baked bread! Some require you to get a ticket first
As soon as walked in you could not ignore the buttery aroma. I am not keen on buttery decadent pastry, but my husband was happy to checked it. he picked an apple pie, and I had a walnut bread. one more thing caramel and macadamia nut little things for mom, cuz she loved this buttery sweet things. one thing I noticed was lots of pastries were in the glass case, some were already in plastic bags as well. Glass case was great idea for sanitary reason. bit pricey for the tastes because my husband said the apple pie was good but not good enough to going back for . my walnut bread was not special, like supermarket bread, soft , sweet not enough walnut, just boring sweet bread.
