Was User at Joya Sushi a mag?
That was a great place. We recently went to her Hamilton location and asked for her Milton location. The owners confirmed that they sold the Milton site and while they had every intention to open a smaller location in Milton, they were ultimately decided to focus on their Hamilton location. They always had good food and service, but they won't come back to Milton. I'm sorry to say, but this place is PERMANENTLY CLOSE... View all feedback.
What Shweta P dislikes about Joya Sushi:
Now, onto the positives: the menu offers a good variety of rolls, appetizers, and rice/noodle dishes. The service was impressive, with servers who were very attentive to our needs. Pricing was fairly typical for a Japanese sushi restaurant.

For me, it's always nice to be in a restaruant that makes me feel comfy when dining solo. Joya's never been busy when I have arrived between 11:30am and noon. My favorite spot next to the kitchen is always available and the waitresses know that I love my green tea and miso soup. The sushi and maki lunch specials never dissappoint and the sushi pizza I had once was very filling. I definately recommend this place for a nice quiet sushi lunch.
We recently had a horrible experience at Joya. Two of us ordered a simple small meal and two drinks shortly after arriving at the restaurant. 40 minutes later we still hadn't received our drinks! It was only when I reminded the waitress about our order that we got our drinks. We then proceeded to wait 50 more minutes for our dinner. I can't believe that we waited an hour and a half for two people. At this time, the restaurant was still only half full. The waitress was pretty much non-existent for our meal and seemed pre-occupied with filling take-out orders. I felt that our order must have been continually thrown to the bottom of the list since we had decided to eat at the restaurant. I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody....unless you're ordering take-out. Then you're a somebody.
Joya Japanese/Korean Food .. Have eaten there twice now since opening. Their Staff and service courteous, friendly and attentive but not to the point of 'bothering' you during your meal.We have had a variety of dishes now - suski salmon, tuna and shrimp very fresh, not rubbery tasting. Tempura amazing, so fresh and hot when brought to your table. Miso soup and green salad very tasty. We had curry beef dish today and last time beef bulgogi also Dynamite Dragon Roll, Edamame, and dumplings. I'm quite convinced anything you order will be delicious and piping hot when brought to you as I previously stated. Also their servings plentiful.thanks you Joya, so glad you opened in Milton, ON.with rice Jo and friends

Pricing was fairly typical for a Japanese sushi restaurant. I ordered two rolls—the spicy salmon and the salmon tempura—along with edamame and miso soup. While everything was decent, I wouldn’t say it was anything extraordinary; it didn’t leave me particularly amazed. As for any negatives? There really aren’t any. Overall, it's a solid sushi restaurant, and I wouldn't hesitate to return.
I had high expectations for Joya, but unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. We ordered tempura udon, bulgogi, and a spicy salmon roll for takeout. I was initially excited when I saw that the tempura came in a large, heavy box, but then I realized it was mostly just a lot of tempura bits (see pic). The spicy salmon roll contained hardly any salmon and was again mostly filled with tempura bits (see pic). Both dishes tasted rather mediocre. The bulgogi, which I didn't photograph, was decent but nothing special. It seems like the chef is cutting corners, and the prices are quite high for the quality. I can't help but wonder if this is because there's limited competition in Milton. For now, we think we'll stick to dining in Mississauga.
