We experienced quick service; as soon as we placed our order, our food was ready by the time we reached our table. The food was excellent, and I particularly enjoyed the roasted garlic bread and the coleslaw. The atmosphere is nice, but I found the dining area a bit too dark.
We arrived at 3 PM and were pleased to find no waiting time. The service was quick, and our food came out hot, fresh, and incredibly tasty! We highly recommend the pork apron and the pulled pork Portobello mushrooms. The portions are generous, so sharing a meal or taking home leftovers makes it quite budget-friendly. Overall, it’s a fantastic place! We will definitely be returning during our trips to UChicago for treatments in the coming months.
The best **** I ever had. I ordered my food to go, but it smells so good I ate it right there in the parking lot. The taste has been in my mouth for weeks. Please open a location in Northwest Indiana. Not only was the food good the staff was amazing. I give 10 stars if I could
Great ribs! I should preface this by saying that I am much more of a dry rub, sauce on the side kind of barbecue guy, But my friend really played this place up and this was the 1st time I had been there in the 2 years that I 've been coming to this part of Illinois. The inside is dark and has a dive bar feel, which I personally enjoy, though I know it 's not for everyone. They really played-up the pork chops and the baby back ribs, so I had both. Pork chop was juicy and tasted as though it was smoked, though they might have thrown it on the grill to mark it up a bit for the meal. Ribs had a nice carmelization on the outside, sauce was sweet but not overly so, Really enjoyed how tender they were without being mushy. The oven browns were basically home fries, but crispier. Coleslaw was fine, a little too much dressing for my taste but not wilted or chewy. Cornbread was a nice touch. I barely finished the meal, the portion was huge and very satisfying. Wish I had heard of this place sooner. Next time I will try their approach to brisket, I 'm told it 's equally good. Good find in the middle of a neighborhood, it was only after that I learned that this place has been featured on all kinds of television shows and best of lists. Great experience overall.
