**Brix and Taproot: A Culinary Journey Worth Taking**
Nestled in an inviting locale, Brix and Taproot stands out for its vibrant ambiance, exceptional service, and dedication to fresh, local ingredients. Guests can indulge in an impressive selection of wines and beers, although some feel that the beer offerings could benefit from refinement. The food, while delicious and creatively presented, has received mixed reviews regarding portion sizes and pricing. Standout dishes like mussels and the cheese board garner praise, though some items may fall short of expectations. First time dining here and I truly loved everything about the experience from the ambiance to the food and service. The entire staff was friendly and attentive. My server, Brett, was fantastic. I started with the wine flights which, let me just say, I love this option because I got to try four different Newport vineyard wines which was right up my alley! I liked the four I tried but Rising Tide is my fave for white and Gemini Red is my red of choice. I’m vegetarian and the meat free options I tried were delish! I started with the Caesarish salad which was well portioned and satisfying. Then I had the small plate Ricotta Gnudi which was oh so delicious. Melt in your mouth and very flavorful I enjoyed every last bite of this. For dessert I had the mini cinnamon buns which were good but not great. I also had a dessert drink called Peanut Butter Cup which was screwball peanut butter whiskey and Godiva chocolate liqueur which tasted as good as it sounds. Great experience all around. I will definitely be back!
At Brix we were beautiful brunch experience and bonus we had to search the gift shop afterwards.
Everything about Newport Vineyards is wonderful, but Brix Restaurant falls short. My last three visits were disappointing, and I won’t be returning for dinner. The prices are too high for the quality of food served.
The food here was AWESOME! There was a long waiting period for the food, but when it came out, it was definitely worth the long waiting period. I come every time I'm in the area. The wine and beer selection is excellent! I can't say enough. The bartender was great and made an excellent blood orange Cosmo! Try the Roseneis Pop!
