Root Bone
Menu
Here you will find the menu of Root Bone in Miami Beach. At the moment, there are 13 dishes and drinks on the menu.
Nestled within the lobby of a hotel, this new location of a beloved New York eatery is making waves with its delicious fried chicken and biscuits, though some diners have noted a lack of the signature lemon flavor from its original counterpart. While the menu shines in simplicity, the atmosphere is marred by a busy lobby, making it less inviting. Cocktails are strong, and warm desserts have garnered praise, but some dishes come up short. Despite the inconsistent service and mixed experiences with travel vouchers, the overall food quality and warmth of the staff ensure this spot is worth a visit.

Was Anonym at Root Bone a mag?
The food at Root Bone was enjoyable. I’d heard they marinate their chicken in sweet tea, so I made the 56-mile trip to give it a try. I was at a 30th birthday party there and really liked the deviled eggs. The fried chicken was delicious, and the drinks were strong, though the macaroni and cheese didn’t stand out for me. The cookies were a highlight, with a spicy flavor that brought Thanksgiving to mind. I also notic... View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Root Bone:
Great food..just DON'T buy the Travelzoo voucher( i did and discovered the restaurant offers the same exsct deal $55, cheaper than Travelzoo. Also, Travelzoo says no Grautity included, but we were charged gratuity). The food is delish and Ive been a fan of the original New York location. I DID notice they dont have the lemon flavor from the original NYC location, but the food was great nonetheless. The menu is VERY b... View all feedback.
The food was good. I read online that they soak their chicken in sweet tea and i just had to drive the 56 miles to visit. I went for my 30th birthday and the deviled eggs were good. The fried chicken was good, the drink was strong, mac n cheese was not good to me but the biscuit they serve is soooo delicious, reminds me of Thanksgiving because they serve the biscuit with seasoning and a broth... mmmhmm. I saw they have a new one on us1 by UM, i will go again. This place was of course expensive at Miami Beach. It was pretty small because it was in a hotel but yeah... the pies... weren't for my taste... Try it!
Great ambience, great service, good food. The fried chicken, the ribs and the root tars are a must. 100 points to this place!
Great food, bad Experience with our Travelzoo voucher (hint: DON'T buy the voucher, the restaurant has the same offer in the restaurant..but for chraper!! . We were suprised when we saw the New York based Root Bone was opening in Florida! The food quality is the same, although there are variances the chicken flavor( the NYC location features a heavy lemon flavor and the chefs one time graced our table and explained the way they make it-hint: lot of lemon . It was suprising to see the chicken was awesome here, but no lemon flavor. The biscuits and cocktails are delish as well, so check em out.
Amazing place, amazing food and Auntum, our server was 5 stars!! Definitely recommended!!!
I wanted to like this place, but the food is mediocre not bad by any stretch, just not memorable. That alone would have given it 3 stars, but the ambiance is seriously lacking. The restaurant, while tiny, is essentially right inside the front door in the lobby of the Shelbourne. It's loud, and there is a constant flow of people coming into and out of the hotel a few feet from diners. It's loud and a bit unsettling. While we were there, hotel guests sat in the restaurant's outside tables snacking on delivery pizza. Again, nothing terrible, just small details that really take away from the overall experience of the meal. The food was good, but not terribly inventive or exciting. Some dishes seemed like they were prepared much earlier and had been sitting in a fridge, which wasn't really surprising considering that the restaurant was completely dead at 8:30pm on a Saturday. For most of the meal, we were the only diners there. And finally, when my husband asked for a gin and tonic, and was given a gin and soda. When he requested a new drink, he was brought another gin and soda, and told that the bar staff was swamped. So, the bar service was really lacking, and the poor ambiance combined with the very average food made for a not so great dinner. Will not return not enough value for the money.
