The place was packed which surprised me. The service was very pushy and it was made very clear from the moment that we arrived that we would be rushed.The brisket was good. The rigs were less than average. The chicken was not good. The sides were horrible. We were given a few sauces but no-one explained what they were. It was also very expensive for what we got. We won't be back.
Went here for lunch last Sunday as I am a meat lover! The beef brisket was delicious, the coleslaw and salad were nice but the ribs were a letdown. They weren't tender 'fall off the bone ribs' like I was expecting and at $80 for a rack they were very overpriced! For what it is I think it's too expensive
The place was very busy and we ended up at the bar. Our meal was a little eclectic, we began with 2 starters and a rib to share. The starters were the butter milk biscuit (read scone) and the whipped smoked mackerel and potato chip. Both were explosions of taste. We had the smoked rib special - just right for a shared meal - tender and delicious.It is a bit hard to find - being on the first level there is only a stairway single door on the street level.The staff were great but a bit harried and slightly distracted at times due to the volume of punters...the volume of punters should say it all!
