The Italina restaurant is located on the waterfront in Melbourne. It was nice to sit outside and eat al fresco. This is not a gourmet restaurant, but the food is well prepared and satisfying. My risotto with chicken was done just right as was my wife's pizza. They even served the pizza uncut as one would expect in Italy. It's a nice place to have a good, yet casual dinner. What UdiGun dislikes about Cervo:
For starters there should be a sign at the entrance for customers with bookings and for the walk-ins to stand separately. Everyone is standing in one line and no one to guide which was a very poor initial experience. The quality of food for the price we pay was below average. Had a neal on Sunday night. Entree, we had crusted olives and calamari, both were lovely and a good size. Main meals, I had gnocchi, it was beautiful, it melted in your mouth, I've never had such Beautiful food. Others had lamb it was cooked perfect and a salad. We were all very happy with our meals, service was excellent. Will definitely be back.
My brother and his wife visited from the Gold Coast expecting to have some great Melbourne food. We ordered 3 different pastas and the slow cooked pork. The pastas all had nothing in them except garlic and oil. The Marinara at $38 was a big pile of pasta with no flavour and a few mussels. My daughter had bad stomach pains after her pasta. Thankfully the slow cooked pork that I had was nice. Very disappointed.
Shouldn't have visited this place again, as our previous visit was just as underwhelming as this time around. Menu is very limited, our main meal arrived before our wine did and we had to ask for our side order twice before it arrived, and when it did, we'd finished our meal. I think the problem with this venue is that they want high-turnover and perhaps rely on 'tourist traffic'. Plenty of others to choose from at the Crown Complex.
I have never been out to a restaurant and everything we ordered was terrible, pizza bases were rock hard couldn’t eat them, chicken risotto was a claggy sloppy mess that tasted like a jar of garlic had been tipped in to give it some flavour, penne carbonara was smothered in over powering Parmesan cheese pasta was undercooked, spaghetti carbonara had no taste at all, bruschetta looked like they were using up scrapes and thrown together with huge blobs of I couldn’t even tell you what cheese) and before we had even finished eating we were given the huge bill and basically told to pay cause they were closing. Our bill was almost $800 for 9 people and food that was uneatable, I don’t usually complain or ever write reviews but had too as we were all so disappointed and shocked that a restaurant could still be open at crown and serving this terrible food
We were looking for a nice relaxing place to have lunch . The staff a reasonably friendly . The food is average . We got a nice outside table so it was a nice Sunday lunch . As we were leaving we asked for the pints to be added to our card , it was like asking the lady behind the counter if she wanted me to pull her teeth out. No smile no response no nothing . Will only go back if I am desperate
