Feedback
Was Toy Haag at Café Lua a mag?
During my week in Melbourne visiting from England, I had the pleasure of dining out at many great restaurants, but this cafe truly stole my heart. The standout dishes were the courgette fritters and their delicious chai latte. I couldn't resist going back every day once I discovered it. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, making it an all-around fantastic experience. View all feedback.
What Carrie Kerluke dislikes about Café Lua:
Needs to lift its game. My coffee was disappointingly bland and underpowered. It tasted like I imagine instant coffee mixed with dishwater would taste. My muesli cookie thingy was as dry as a medieval monk's manuscript and near inedible. The servers were more interested in themselves than the few scattered customers. No good can come of a performance like this. View all feedback.

Indian tea and food, cafe style. Place should be tagged with coffee@tea on yelp. Excellent choice of Darjeeling teas.
An improvement over what you used to find in Carlton! Very much for locals, but a nice place to stop before heading for Cinema Nova Service is a little
Called in for a chai after seeing a sign saying best chai in Melbourne .It was a true chai, with a superb spice smell .Chatted to owner who advised the recipe was from India . A bonus is being able to purchase a bag of chai to take home . Didn't eat there , but will next visit .Seats out in the street
Lua is one of our regular spots.Coffee is good without being fantastic, but the Shakshuka is awesome (if you like that type of food). Service is good, friendly owners who have put their own spin on the menu (Indian influence).Shashuka, eggs benedict and avo smash are good options.
