This restaurant is amazing! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was very enjoyable, and what I appreciated the most during my visit was the server. You can really tell that he is passionate about his job! View all feedback.
What Coffee Girl dislikes about Mr. Chimaek:
I was eager to try the honey butter chicken, but while it was decent, I found it to be quite expensive. The chicken itself didn't leave a lasting impression on me. On a brighter note, the cashier was very friendly. However, I must mention that the prices are nearly double compared to the Korean restaurant at Langham. View all feedback.
The restaurant offers a wide variety of Korean dishes. The chicken portions are quite substantial. However, it is on the pricier side compared to other Korean establishments.
The Korean fried chicken is truly exceptional. It's delightfully crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, featuring a perfect balance of sweet and spicy flavors. Whether you're craving classic fried chicken or something with a twist, like garlic soy or spicy BBQ, Mr. ChiMaek has something to satisfy your taste buds. But the delights don’t stop at the chicken. The menu also includes a variety of Korean staples, from traditional bibimbap and kimchi fried rice to noodle options like japchae and spicy seafood udon. I had the gamjatang, which was flavorful, but I noticed a slight burnt smell after a few bites. The owner noticed this as well and came over to ensure everything was okay, even offering to replace my dish. I assured her that it was good, but she still surprised me with complimentary dumplings. The service here is outstanding! I will definitely be returning for more—thank you!
The decor was a fun mix of geeky, modern, and clean elements, with each table featuring a different city imprint, making the atmosphere engaging. As I waited for my food, I took in the lively ambience. Now, let’s talk about the star of the show: the chicken. It was absolutely delicious—perfectly fried and cooked to perfection. The sauce was spot-on, not too runny, and added a fantastic flavor. I will definitely be back to explore other flavors on the menu!
The food is on the pricier side, but it's absolutely worth it; everything we sampled was delicious. We ordered the carbonara boneless wings, the cheese butter seasoned boneless wings, and the kimchi fries, all of which were exceptional. Overall, this place is a fantastic choice with excellent food and reasonable prices, although the slightly high prices could be seen as a drawback. However, that's really the only negative I can mention.
