Geoffrey's Malibu offers spectacular ocean views and a large, upscale dining experience. Although some dishes are subpar, the scallops and risotto are highlights. The service is excellent, adding to the overall value of the pricey menu. The iconic nature of the restaurant is maintained, but some feel that the menu could use an update. Valet parking is available, and the location near the water provides a beautiful setting. While the food may not be the main attraction, the overall experience, including the service and ambiance, make Geoffrey's a worthwhile stop in Malibu, especially for special occasions.
The strength of this restaurant is the spectacular view of the ocean and coastline. It is not a small, intimate place.  it is a big operation. The food was mixed in quality. The Caesar salad was subpar. We ate at the Ivy on Robertson recently, and they know how to make a Caesar salad. At Geoffrey, the quality of the Caesar salad would be something you would find at a neighborhood restaurant . On the other hand, the scallops were delicious, and the risotto which accompanied them was well-made. The service was excellent, and the waiters had great attitude. If it was just based on the quality of the food, I would say it is over-priced but you’re paying for an incredible view in addition to the food. And I would recommend Geoffrey for a special occasion and be ready to spend a lot of money.
