Applebee's - Madison
Applebee's
Description
A neighborhood Applebee’s delivers occasional comfort-food highlights—ribs, shrimp and family-friendly plates—within a casual, calming setting. However, experiences vary: service is inconsistent and sometimes understaffed, and food quality fluctuates (cold fries, overbattered fish, smaller portions). Cleanliness and décor have been flagged, with reports of odors and sanitary lapses. Good for a quick, relaxed meal on the road, but expect hit-or-miss service and presentation until management addresses staffing and upkeep.

The food was neither hot nor fresh, and the French fries tasted old and stale. The waitress had an unfriendly attitude, and the restaurant had an unpleasant odor, reminiscent of a place that had flooded or been mopped with dirty water. Management should really look into these concerns.
We stopped by for dinner with the family during our road trip, and overall, the food was delightful. However, I found the portion sizes to be a bit smaller than those at other Applebee's locations we've visited. Other than that, the service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing, making it a perfect way to unwind after a long day of driving.
I walked in and had to seat myself. I waited about five minutes before a server came to ask for our drink orders. I still hadn't seen our actual server, who seemed busy, even though it took a while for someone to come to help us after we seated ourselves. Eventually, a kind lady took our order, but it took another 30 minutes before that happened.
Took a lil while before we got our drinks but then I realized they only had one waitress working our whole side. Food was OK but the fish was over battered. I waited 10 minutes to get my receipt and eventually I had to go to the bar to get it. Restaurant needs updating to be in Madison.
