Loved this little place when we had dinner there during a recent trip to Lucca. Simple place tables on the terrace next to another restaurant with very friendly staff and a largely Italian clientele. Always a good sign. Food was sublime especially the ravioli with truffle oil but also the beef carpaccio. Would definitely return here again.
We have been to Italy many times and this restaurant manages to capture the reasons why. It is unassuming in appearance and provides substance over style. The staff are kind and warm to their guests. They are attentive to your needs and ensure that you are treated as a welcome guest. Food is number 1 in a restaurant and the food here is straightforward and traditional. There is comfort in that and excellence too when you can taste the love which went into the preparation. Most of our fellow guests were Italian and we shared a secret with them the knowledge that this restaurant is one of the gems in the crown of Italy. Exceptional food and we will return again. When you are in Lucca, you must go to this restaurant. The food is terrific traditional Italian but not too heavy, and the service is charming and efficient. Special mention must be made of Anna possibly the nicest waitress in town. Highly recommended without hesitation.
