**Exploring Surf Taco: A Mixed Bag Experience** Surf Taco offers a vibrant atmosphere and a compelling menu featuring classic favorites like the crispy taco and unique options like the teriyaki chicken taco. Diners praise the delicious food and customizable spice levels at the salsa bar, particularly the standout pineapple habanero salsa. However, concerns over cleanliness, including overflowing garbage and a disorganized salsa area, have been noted. While service is generally prompt and friendly, occasional lapses such as subpar food quality have led to a call for more attention to detail. Overall, Surf Taco is a great post-beach spot, but improvements in maintenance are essential for a more enjoyable experience.
As of October 2022, Surf Taco has started to reintroduce some old favorites, including my cherished crispy taco. I used to order from Surf Taco every week until June when the menu changed. They removed the crispy taco, and we haven't returned since. Rest in peace, crispy taco.
The restaurant was quite busy on Saturday night, but the staff provided outstanding service. The food was delicious, and everything was clean and well-presented. This is definitely the best surf taco spot along the shore. I highly recommend the steak quesadilla. The salsa is always fresh and served in unlimited quantities. The chips are cooked to perfection and perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of salt. The counter staff is fantastic. I could eat here every night!
Simple, reasonably priced, and delicious. Good salsa bar. The pineapple habanero salsa is fantastic. Easy parking as well, great place for lunch on the shore.
The food was good as always, but giving 2 stars for the cleanliness of this establishment. The garbage was overflowing to the floor and there seemed to be no urgency to clean it. Along with this, the salsa serving area was also very dirty. There werecrumbled receipts, dirty napkins and straw wrappers inside and around the bowls. Other surf taco locations are much cleaner.
Surf Taco provides ample seating and tables, with the menu clearly displayed on a board. Customers can either get soda from the fountain or select bottled drinks from the fridge. After placing your order, you can adjust the spice level at a condiment bar to make your meal as mild or as spicy as you prefer. The taco chips are wonderfully crispy, and the waffle fries are an excellent side choice.
