Kihon offers a nice family-oriented dining experience with fresh and delicious sushi. While some diners have had a negative experience with slow service and lackluster ambiance, others rave about the top-notch quality of the sushi and sashimi. The Omakase special during Dine Out Long Beach week was a hit with many, who found the dishes to be amazing. The friendly and efficient wait staff also garnered positive feedback. Overall, Kihon seems to be a mixed bag depending on individual experiences, but for many patrons, it remains a go-to sushi spot in the Long Beach area.
The loudest restaurant I have ever been to! The service was fair at best and it’s expensive for what you get! Don’t think we are going back!
We had a great time at Kihon with 3 generations in our group, including teenage son. We are able to order everything from the most unique sushi (teenager favorite), to dumplings to teriyaki and tempura platter. Softshell crab sushi is a favorite. Reservations recommended since the restaurant is small but popular.
Kihon truly serves the best and freshest sushi we've ever had! We've been coming here for years and it never disappoints. From the incredible quality of the fish to the friendly staff and cozy ambiance, everything is consistently a 10/10.
