Feedback
The restaurant received mixed reviews, with some customers feeling underwhelmed by the food, while others thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The empanadas and plantains were highlighted as stand-out dishes, with one reviewer comparing the experience to Porto's Bakery. Friendly service was a common praise, with the staff accommodating late arrivals graciously. The gaucho chicken and lomo saltado were recommended dishes, as well as the potato balls. Overall, the restaurant seems to offer a unique blend of Caribbean and South American cuisine with a cozy atmosphere and dog-friendly outdoor seating.
I recently tried the potato balls at Obra Bakery in Long Beach, and they were absolutely delicious! The perfect blend of flavors and the texture was spot on. The overall experience was delightful, with friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere. I highly recommend trying the potato balls if you visit. Can’t wait to go back for more!
Potato balls were bigger and crispier than Porto's. Also had cheese, which was a nice touch. Were they tastier? I would say it's a toss up. I definitely think it's worth a try. They are having a hard time keeping up with demand given the Instagram popularity. Kept seeing the notes about lines, so I came here early. Ordered half a dozen empanadas and four potato balls. Got here around 8:45am on Saturday morning. Line wasn't bad at that time. Waited about 8 10 minutes to get to ordering and less than 5 minutes to get my order. I hear the wait can be bad, so I recommend getting here early. Also because I hear they run out of things. The empanadas were solid. They didn't need the dipping sauce because they had enough flavor on their own, but it was nice to have. Wasn't expecting to see a burrito flavor, so I had to give that a shot. It was my favorite of the four I tried (chicken, beef potato, breakfast). Staff was very friendly. Looking forward to seeing them get the help they need to keep up with the increased demand. They seem to have great sandwich options, but couldn't try any because kitchen is closed. They are not currently taking online or call in orders, only walk ins. Parking is limited all the more reason to arrive early. Things are a bit pricey, but that’s everywhere these days. For my order, I paid nearly $50.
Wow, the potato balls are so good! They’re crispy on the outside, so flavorful with a good amount of meat, not salty definitely delicious! The employees were very efficient and super friendly. There was a long line when I got there but the wait was worth it. They have a limited menu due to kitchen issues, so today (Sunday morning) there were only empanadas (beef, chicken curry and veggie), potato balls and coffee/beverages. The Tres Leches iced latte was really good, is on the sweet side. The 4 stars is because of the parking and basically nowhere to seat. Parking is challenging depending on the time you go. Took me 20 minutes to get a spot and park. There are only 3 tables in front of the bakery,so it’s best to pick up than eating there. But since I live 30 miles away, and I want to eat my food hot, it’s a challenge that I have to figure out. Despite that I’m going again soon to get more potato balls .
I had an amazing experience at this restaurant. It was my first time there, so I was unsure of what to order. The friendly staff helped me with all my questions, and I ended up trying the empanadas and potato balls. My favorite was the chicken curry empanada, although the Cuban one was a close second. The potato balls were cheesy, crispy, and satisfying. There were so many options on the menu that I can't wait to come back and try more. I would say this place is on par with Porto's, if not even better!
