Was stefanrazvan at A Ucharia a mag?
We went for diner and it was a good experience overall. Octopus was great and Durou white wine also. Tapas were interesting, desert average but pinaple coud soup surprised us : staff and owner were very friendly. For a restaurant have to much white light, furniture. View all feedback.
What LouisVie dislikes about A Ucharia:
A very bright (too bright) room with mirrors, white walls and very bright lamps!! Nothing special about the decoration. The food portions, although it 's a petiscos/tapas place, are ridiculously small and pricey. The biggest disapointment is the lack of taste of the food!Everything was bland and boring.Be aware that they charge you for a bottle of tap water (2.50)! The table staff was friendly enough. Excellent food to share, or not... Nice choice of beers and wines. Very friendly and attentious staff! Tastefully decorated and suits both romantic and (small) groups dinners. Highly recommended!
Before being renovated, this restaurant had a charming, vintage feel but a long, narrow layout with a squinchy back patio. Renamed and redecorated, the space is now much more open and bright (I didn 't mind the white and thought the mirrors helped counter the narrowness and the back patio is very pleasant greener and bigger. BUT...management seems to have spent a long time on many attractive decor details (gorgeous cutlery, slate serving slabs, chic outdoor furniture and forgotten the need for friendly, warm, pratical service with prices that correspond to the style and quality of the food and also the area. We went for lunch and the restaurant was empty when we arrived but our server was not friendly and only gave us one menu. The menu is a clipboard with a number of pages and we were sitting opposite each other so there was no way we could share it. She haughtily recommended choosing 3 small dishes each when we said the daily special didn 't appeal. Since most of the smaller dishes were 8 or 9 euros each, this would make for a pricey lunch it seems that they need to make back what they spent on the new decor because everything is overpriced the house water comes in a not very big bottle but because it is filtered they charge 2.50€ for it. Hmmm. Each item of the cover (served on a darling wooden platter is charged separately since it is brought to the table with the the bread without being asked for, some people might expect it is all included in the cover but no one euro for a thimble of olive oil, X euros for the teeny cheese, x euros for the teeny spread you get the idea. We decided we would start by ordering 3 items between us and see if we were still hungry and then we could order more. Each of the items we ordered was delicious cod pastries, octopus salad on toast and sweet potato chips (bit disappointed they weren 't fries but still good . The other server who brought us most of our meal was actually very friendly but unfortunately the tone had been set by the first server who took our order. It turned out that the 3 items shared was plenty for lunch (plus all the cover items but that lunch for 2 should never have cost more than 20€ (it was 30€ . There are loads of friendlier, more reasonably priced options in the neighbourhood,

The door lady ,at the end,was sitting at the bar instead of escorting customers to the door... The only positive note was the chocolate mousse! All together a do not repeat experience!
