Was Inga Adler at Gemi Roasters a mag?
it surprises me every time I go to meet joy and it always at least a few empty tables, how is this place not full? they can not find many good places like it in leipzig (especially there are no other Korean restaurants) and. eating is completely tasteful and different from everything else in the city. their prices are very low for the food they make. always really friendly staff and his cozy design inside. as I said:... I came here with my husband, as we had seen all the good reviews and thought that this would be a great place to eat, but we were so disappointed. If we first take the interior it is not nice at all. The first thing I had to do was to change my chair as it was very shaky and didn´t feel secure to sit on. My husband sat down on the bench by the wall covered with different pillows, and he was actually the first of us discovering all the stains on the pillows. It is normally me, with my female eye, that sees these things, but he saw it instantly and it is not nice to sit in an environment, where you are going to eat, and it is not clean. My husband had the chicken mayo as starter, and he liked it very much. I could only taste sweet on sweet and nothing else, but it was his starter so I give 1 dot for that, as he was happy.I had the pork salad, and it was very uninspiring. Just raw vegetables and 5 small pieces of pork. The pork was very tasty and for this I give the second and last dot. The salad itself had no taste. When I have a vietnamese salad it explodes with flavour and fresh herbs and yummyness, but this was just roughly cut vegetables and apple and if a korean salad is like this, then it is not worth buying. As we had had Bibimbap the day before we chose to have something else for main course. We chose fondue, as they call it, but it is a hot pot. Meat, vegetables, noodles and soup to boil it in. We asked in advance what kind of beef it was, just to be sure to have something good, and we asked specific if it was filet, and the waiter answered yes and that it was very thinly cut. Therefore we chose the hot pot and looked forward to sharing some cozy food even though the surroundings was not our taste. When we got the food we just looked at each other. As the soup had a weird smell, my husband asked me to taste it, and it tasted like fish and I do not like or eat fish at all. The beef was of very poor quality and had not been near a filet furthermore be filet. There was a square compressed pack of UDON noodles just poored out of a vacuum packed bag, and I know these very well as I use them at home. They did not even take the time to seperate the noodles. How we were suppose to seperate them at the table, I have no idea. There were very little food and not possible for 2 people to become full at all, and it costs 26 euros so not cheap at all. The hot pot did not come with a small sieve or anything so how it is possible to get the small vegetables out of the soup, I have also no idea. For the first time ever in the 20 years we have been together, my husband looked at me and said that he would not sink his teeth into that food. We desided to ask for the check and find another place to have our main course. The waiter got extremely defensive when we talked to him about the food and laughed a couple of times when we pointed some of the things out. For example the detail of the soup tasting like fish and he said that it was a fish soup and grined like it did not matter. I find it very weird to serve a fish soup to boil your beef in and maybe tell people in advance? I only got to pay half the hot pot, so that was a plus, but the waiter was very annoyed and rude when I paid emphasizing that they had had thousands of customers and never nad a complain. I just said "good for you", told him a polite good bye and found another restaurant and had some very nice main courses.Maybe we chose the wrong dish, or the cook had a bad day, but this was very bad and nothing like people describe in here. Even though the food had been good I do not think we would be coming back, as I like to sit comfortable when I eat and don´t enjoy seing dirty pillows.
The food is very tasty but the portion is small comparing with its price. Friendly staffs and lovely dog
Went to this place with a friend who said it's quite an insiders' tip. I can second that. Never ate korean food before so it was exciting what I will get. The decoration is quite simple and they don't care a lot if it looks really korean. I like that a lot because it means they only care about the food. I can't really remember what I chose but together with the food of the friend I had a bit of everything somehow. The food is really good and whenever someone comes to visit me the first thing I ask is "do you like korean food?" and take them to this lovely place :D I miss the friendly staff and the dog
A fusion of German laidback lounge with Korean food makes this spot a great dinner option for anyone who craves authentic spicy Korean food! The long wait is worth it, and if you're in for good conversation and a relaxed atmosphere, this place is where u wanna be! Don't come if u are rushed or have issues with doggies by your table they are super pet friendly. Prices are relatively elevated, but food is really good!
