Unfortunately, I didn't have an autism-friendly experience. I had to end the visit early because there was no quiet spot available, even though there was an empty conservatory that turned out not to be reserved. When I asked if I could take a seat there, I was refused with the reason: “Otherwise others would want that too.” This attitude feels similar to denying disabled parking to someone with a disability because “others want that too.” It shows little understanding and empathy for people with a special need for peace and comfort. And all for a simple cup of coffee on a quiet Saturday in November, while in fact there were options to accommodate. Very disappointing.
