What L8297YEchrisf dislikes about Maria:
Called in here for lunch today. 3 persons MotoTouring through Italy. We wanted a light lunch, some anti pasta’s to share, bruschetta’s and some beers. When we said that we didn’t want pasta or a main we were asked to leave the owner did not want to serve us. Never in Italy have we experienced such rude or inappropriate hospitality. I guess they made all their profits over the winter! View all feedback.
This restaurant is a jewel amidst a charming hiking village located in Gran Sasso National Park. The food was spectacular, fresh, tasty, great presentation! The wine selection of local Italian wines was perfect. The antipasti offerings were super delicious. I love the roasted zucchini’s in olive oil. The bruschetta of fresh tomatoes and olive oil was fresh and delicious. We ordered fettuccine with mushrooms and delicate sauce and ricotta stuffed ravioles in tomatoes sauce. For sweets we had a créame and fruits torte. Maria herself made sure we felt comfortable and happy! Great location, ambiance, happy people, servizio eccellente! Thanks Maria and your staff for creating a fun and healthy dinning experience. grazie mille!
Friends from Abruzzo took us to this place for an outdoor lunch after a morning at Gran Sasso. Wonderful variety of local dishes, all prepared and presented nicely at a good relaxed pace. The house white wine was excellent and the price was surprisingly modest. The owner visited briefly and was very welcoming. We couldn't have been more satisfied.

After reaching the summit of mount Gran Sasso, with my buddy we were starving, and by chance we found this restaurant on the road, we thought was a touristic trap, but actually was a very nice and cosy family-run restaurant. We order starters, main course and some arrosticini , typical skews from Abruzzo region. All was good and the amount of food was overwhelming, we set there for 3 hours, eating and drinking.... Pictures will talk by themselves...
After a nice walk on the Campo Imperatore, we came down to Fonte Cerreto and had lunch at Maria's. A very good choice. We were seated outside on the terrace, enjoying the spring songs of the birds around. Immediately arrived the drinks and the antipasti, very tasty dishes of grilled courgettes, ham and salami, bruschette with tomato and tartuffo, mackerell, artichokes, goat liver, .... too much and too good! We decided to skipp the pasta and head on for the secondo: grilled sausages and beefsteak of vitello, very tender and tastful! Accompanied with a nice salad and wonderful cime di rapa. The wine (Montepulciano d'Abruzzo) was very nice, We skipped desert and took a coffee, paid 70€ in 3 persons, very nice price for the 3 of us. Maria and her staff took good care of us, Complimenti! Highly recommended!
