What Richard Matthews dislikes about Big Chic:
It’s definitely not as good as it used to be. I understand the economy is tough right now, but the price I paid for my meal was absurd considering what I received. It makes me nostalgic because I grew up enjoying Big Chic chicken and went there nearly every Sunday during college. I’m not saying I won’t return, but I won’t be rushing back. It makes me nostalgic because I grew up enjoying Big Chic chicken and went there nearly every Sunday during college. I’m not saying I won’t return, but I won’t be rushing back. There are far better chicken options in LaGrange. Also, the Big Chic in Manchester is noticeably better.
I ordered two meals with a two-piece big chicken special (thigh and wing) and one three-piece big chicken special (thigh and two wings), along with a three-piece tender meal. When I got home and checked my food, I found three very small wings instead of what I expected. I called and spoke with an employee who directed me to the manager. When I explained the situation, she told me that these were the only sizes they had available now and that they no longer sell the bigger wings. I really wish you could see how small these wings actually are!
The chicken liver was overcooked, making it feel like I was eating rocks and sawdust.
Best fried chicken anywhere. Potato salad and slaw are awesome. Don't forget a few jalapeños. Take out only.
