The portions were enormous. I ordered the Cobb sandwich, while Brad had the chicken fried steak with garlic potatoes. My sandwich came with a generous serving of crispy fries, and I appreciated having the mayo on the side. It was loaded with turkey, bacon, blue cheese crumbles, and tomatoes. I couldn't finish it all! The chicken fried steak was incredibly tender, and Brad claimed it was the best he had ever tasted—ne... View all feedback.
What Kannan Ramasamy dislikes about Julian Cafe:
I ordered a hot coffee, but they delivered it cold. Despite the low crowd, the attendant refused to let us take a seat, even though we had a toddler with us and it was cold outside. Someone needs to remind them to treat people fairly and without bias. The apple pie is not that good. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3 View all feedback.
A friend and I stopped in for lunch, a late lunch as we found other places were closed and as much as I probably would have enjoyed it, I couldn't just just have pie as a meal. So, we put or names down and waited to be seated. We didn't wait too long, less than 15 minutes I'd say. Not too bad. Tables were turned over quickly as it was all business there. Eat and go, no loitering around taking up space. Service was adequate. Not sure how else to describe it. Good, then as it wasn't bad but not so good that I'm here raving about it. We weren't left waiting or wanting anything. Got our order, food, drinks, refills and bill. Like I said, it was all business. As for the food, my burger was ok. I must not have taken pics as it's not linking to this review but it was a little on the dry side. But not so dry as to send to it back. Flavor was ok too. Not so bad that I needed or asked for condiments to spice up the flavor. Loved the fries though. Nice and crispy. And the special lemonade offering was great. It was a little warm that day we visited so it definitely was a hit for the both of us. Though it wasn't a bad experience, we both felt the same way after we left. Ok
Great menu, simple and accessible, great service, friendly vibes. Very popular so that might affect wait time, and parking on Main Street is sometimes challenging. Nice stopover for singles, couples, families, hikers, and directly across from the grocery store for additional stocking up
Was contacted by the owner Cara after my initial review. What I got wasn't an apology or hey come back we'll make it up to you. No, I got excuses and Cara went on the offensive putting the blame on us because we showed a lack of patience. The owners arrogant and is one of those people that doesn't like to admit error. She boasts how long she's been in business and turned the tables making the experience our fault. I hadn't mentioned it before but will now. They also have this cute little sign on the table that's double sided. One side has some gobbledygook writing on it, which faces the customer and looks pretty ordinary. This I assume is down with a purposeful hand as to not directly advise the customer of the process increase to the bill, but later justify it when the customer gets angry. If you take the time to flip it around and read it, it states that there is a 5% add on fee for food cost increases added to your final bill. So when people get pissed, they can say hey it's posted in the table. That way they don't look like they're being greedy. Let me tell ya, the price you pay for a cup of coffee and a meal is already super inflated at that place. Yeah, it's cute, it's cozy and you can buy a candle or jar of jelly on your way out. But cmon. And I also gotta say, the food was very good several years ago but we noticed a steep decline over the last 5 years or so. Not good. Not special and to be honest, I've left there kinda angry in the past because the meal was silly expensive for very low quality. There ya go Cara how's my update? Lucky for you the cafe is located in a tourist spot because if you pulled that garbage with the **** service, low food quality and sneaky cost additions, you'd be taking a lot more heat and quite possibly out of business. Your kind of business model is predatory in nature and your only saving grace is the location. It certainly isn't the food and most definitely not the service. Jesus loves you. Have a great day
Food was insanely delicious. We went for breakfast and both got veggie omelettes. Their home fries are tasty and their bacon was perfect. We got their specialty pumpkin waffles which was heavenly. Coffee was pretty good. We did have to wait about an hour to be seated but hey it was a Saturday in October, we just walked around for awhile while we waited. Highly recommend!
Came to the spot while in town and I really wanted to like it because there's not a lot of options to eat while you're here. I was really hungry when I arrived here and we were looking for some good breakfast ..service was not great, and it took a while to get our water, and for a waiter to come over and ask us what we wanted. You got a remember. It's a small town and the food was a little pricey, but as to be expected, I don't mind paying for food but I feel like that the food should live up to the price point. All of the stuff that we ordered was pretty bland. The gravy with the biscuit and gravy had no flavor at all And I ordered a chili cheese omelette, which was literally all beans. They should've called it the bean omelette, because there was no meat in it, everybody at the table ordered different things, and the opinion that I got from all of us was at the foods did not have that much flavor The other thing that I didn't like also as they would make you pay a service fee and I don't know I'm just not a fan of these made up service fees when I'm already there dining and paying a higher price for food anyways. I completely understand the businesses are having a hard time with the cost of supplies and staff at these times but you do not have to nickel and dime your customers just to make up for that. Just raise the prices on the menu. Honestly, go check out some of the other places in town because I do not recommend this place to others.
