We loved the pint of Guinness and the pint of Kilkenny beer I had. All the staff were extra friendly, helpful and very caring about making sure our meals and drinks were to our satisfaction. Ordered the steak, garlic bread (this was huge) garlic prawns and onion rings. Reasonably priced and huge servings. We will go back before we leave on Friday. Recommend Waxy's Irish Pub very highly. A very long wait for food. Chicken not too bad but didnt taste of thyme or lemon.roast potatoes and kumara dry other vege...red onion, red capsicum cauli practically raw....friends blue cod not very big and batter bordering on burnt, a few chips and lettuce on plate constituted a 28 meal....very disappointing...Won't be going back for a very long time, if at all. We had lunch there today and it was terrible. I would not go again. I had Bangers and Mash it was the worst meal I have had. Mashed Potato tasteless and lumpy floating with runny gravy with 2 dry sausages on top with a sprinkle of undercooked peas on top with purple onions. Not visually nice and not tasty either a big let down. could make it better at home.
