If you're in the mood for Japanese noodles but looking for something lighter than a hearty ramen bowl, the Shingen Soba at this restaurant is a great option. If you're in the mood for Japanese noodles but looking for something lighter than a hearty ramen bowl, the Shingen Soba at this restaurant is a great option. They offer a variety of soba dishes, as well as rice bowls, sushi rolls, and tempura. I recommend trying the Tantan Tsuke with a side of dried squid tempura and beef tataki. The cold Tantan Tsuke is refreshing and not too spicy, while the beef tataki is fresh and tender. The dried squid tempura with spicy mayo is a tasty snack. The special combo Gyudon is a satisfying dish that combines noodles and rice. On my next visit, I plan to enjoy a variety of small plates in tapas style.
I absolutely love dining here with friends. Our dinner was a delightful experience of Japanese cuisine that brought comfort to my heart. The food is delicious, the place is clean and efficient, and the customer service is exceptional. Everyone can enjoy the food here safely. The only downside was that the tables were a bit small for our party of four who ordered a lot of appetizers. However, overall I had a great culinary experience. Their specialty is soba, so you must try it. I highly recommend the cold moringa soba.
Hidden gem of Honolulu. Traditional and authentic Japanese food. The atmosphere is complete with its aesthetics, the aroma from the kitchen, the coziness from the seats, and the staff welcoming customers. Get a reservation for a guaranteed table service. If traveling as one or two, there is a bar side table.
You know its a good Japanese restaurant when most of the patrons are Japanese speakers. The price is decent and this place satisfy my ikura/uni cravings. Most of the meals comes with both a rice and soba combo. Also, this is the first time I tried sobayu, and its so good! Thanks for that experience.
Everything we had from the pork belly, cold soba, tempura white fish, Hamachi sushi, eel, fried ice cream and more was excellent! I would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting amazing Japanese food! The staff was also very kind, helpful and prompt! It is BYOB so if you want alcoholic beverages you'll need to bring them. I honestly don't think I could have handled anything more than water with all of the delicious food but thought I'd mention it! Amazing food and experience!
