during our 10-day stay in the opposite I tried 5 vegan pasties from 5 different places and philps was the most boring of them all. it was despite being too salty (then that the traditional pasty of my man was too salty.) Not sure what all the hype is about - the pastry was thick and the filling in the buttered veggie flavour wasn't particularly inspiring.
Pasties were too big like American size, but also too salty and not very tasty.
I tried a Philps pasty for the first time today and I can't believe I waited so long to try one! Even though I don't live near a shop, the taste was just like homemade.
