Was Heather Shuker at Benigno a mag?
Simple bar with tables outside. Everyone was eating the patatas bravas with hot sauce. So we ordered them. Ours were undercooked. Think it was a busy time in the kitchen. We followed that with morcilla de Burgos and a roasted green pimentón. All washed down with a couple of glasses of crianza at 2.80 a glass. Being a fan of bravas I ordered some bravas but it was impossible to eat them, very bad and indigestible with the excess of spiciness. The potato was very bad and the presentation was not worthy of that price, on a disposable plate. 1 place to which I will never return, in Haro there are excellent bravas places and this is a kick to the dictionary of bravas. I also went to try the new potatoes at Bar Benigno and they are not like before, the sauce is not the same and neither is the way to make the potatoes, also the most surprising thing is that I ordered a wine from Bodegas López de Heredia (Cubillo) and they have charged me €4 for a drink, with 3-4 more drinks I buy a bottle. A shame.... the truth is that a glass of wine costs €4, more than the 1/2 serving of potatoes. They've already seen my hair around here, and I'm a vacationer but I'm not coming back.
