Finally got to try this place out! It is a house in a residential neighborhood. The service was very friendly and there were quite a few specials. There were vegetarian dishes though she was out of the wheat gluten one. I will have to go back and try that. I ordered the vegetable curry and green beans. It all tasted very fresh and home cooked. This place is fantastic! The food is excellent and served in healthy, well-balanced portions. They offer vegetarian options, and the salmon is outstanding. Just a heads up—they only accept cash, so be prepared for that.
I visited Kente's with a colleague during my lunch break. She had been raving about the place, so I decided to give it a shot, albeit skeptically. At first glance, Kente's resembles a hole-in-the-wall; I didn't even realize it was a restaurant until we stepped inside. The dining area has a cozy, home-like atmosphere, although seating is limited due to the small size of the space. We both ordered the curry chicken served over white rice, and it was delicious! I'm not usually a big fan of curry, but this dish was very satisfying and the chicken was tender. Plus, the price was quite reasonable. I plan to return and bring my boyfriend next time. The only downside to my visit was discovering that they only accept cash, so make sure to come prepared!
Love the atmosphere, rich in culture and history. The grilled salmon and rice was amazing. I'm Asian so rice is life. Told a friend about you guys.
Love this place, small quant and full of love . Best fried fish in va yes va healthy harty comfort foods soul/african fuison food with a flare. U will b ahh tucked away in a referbushed home. It's a food for the hart every thing is cooked to order ps don't forget to try the fresh backed goods. Very healthy eating
