At just 16 years old, Chef Zhang embarked on his culinary journey at the renowned Hibiscus Restaurant in Chengdu. His remarkable talent and dedication led him to head chef positions in some of the finest establishments in Beijing and Shanghai before he brought his expertise to London. In 2005, he took on the exciting challenge of crafting a vibrant Sichuanese menu at BarShu Restaurant, quickly becoming renowned for his delectable dishes that capture the delicate and indulgent essence of Sichuan cuisine. Chef Zhang's passion for culinary excellence was further recognized in 2008 when he won the Gold title at the 5th International Competition of Eat East Food in Beijing. This acclaim opened doors, allowing him to represent the UK at the prestigious Worlds of Flavour event in California, where he showcased the pinnacle of Sichuan cooking. His culinary prowess also led to a collaboration with Fuchsia Dunlop on her acclaimed book, ‘Every Grain of Rice: Simple Chinese Home Cooking,’ published in 2012. Later, Chef Zhang took his talents to HuTong in The Shard, but now he has chosen to share his rich heritage and culinary artistry at Tian Fu, Taste of Sichuan. Here, guests are invited to indulge in an authentic menu that reflects the flavors and traditions reminiscent of his grandfather’s cooking. what a Jewel! I have been in shepherd’s bush for the better part of 30 years I have always gone, but finally decided to try it and young it was amazing. the setting of the personal and eating. it is not amazing. they serve truly authentic Chinese foods with just a small offer of European Chinese food we did not eat too much, but what we had was great. young chow fried rice with the pork bell with soy sauce embroidere... we live in the opposite, and my son wanted this restaurant for a dae try as all in the family enjoy Chinese food. we visited two months ago, and we probably had the worst food we lived in london after 32 years here. the menu alone was very difficult to understand and eating was appallingly overpriced. we sat on a table at the window, near the door, which opened to let the curlers deliver, so we had to stop our dumbbe... My boss treated us to this restaurant. I absolutely love spicy food, and the spicy chicken noodles were my favorite dish!
The worst restaurant ever had in London. Even one person they will add on service charge. I asked the waitress to take it off. She said it’s compulsory and tired to show me it’s written on their menu. And the ridiculous thing is on the receipt it says : discretionary as the pic I have attached here. The food was fantastic and the staff were so so fun and friendly! Definitely worth a try if you're craving Sichuan food!!
