Description
F Cooke's, a historic pie and mash shop in Hoxton, offers an authentic glimpse into London’s culinary past. While it attracts a mix of loyal locals and curious tourists, opinions on the food vary. Many praise the substantial, flavorful pies and generous portions, noting the nostalgic dining experience. However, some critics describe the dishes as bland or lacking freshness, with concerns over hygiene and presentation. Despite mixed reviews, the warm service and rich history make it a memorable stop for those seeking a slice of old-school East End charm. A must-visit, if only for the experience.

Old-fashioned, delicious english food. My family and I came after seeing a youtube video on it claiming it was england's first fast food shop. Whether it is or not, we don't care because the food is delicious.
My husband was transported back to his youth with this place and it’s great food. Amazing taste of proper basic East End grub which was the best value for money ever!
Friends were visiting from America and wanted a real London experience. The building was impressive and seating quaint and charming. There was no sense of trying to anything but a dispensary of good wholesome and filling food. We all had double pie and mash with ‘liquor’ and to a man were mightily impressed and set up for the day. It’s sad that so many of these traditional eateries have been lost. My friends say it was a highlight of their trip as it wasn’t tainted by the snobbish experiences we see in so many other restaurants. The staff were traditionally English and salts of the earth. We will visit again.
