visit on October. restaurant located at the corner of a very charming square. sunny terrace, perfect. No noise. arrives at the end of the day. But for that, an excellent reception. hunger and waitress very attentive. we chose from the menu of the day, in local cuisine. good value quality price. Quick service. We were there for lunch. It was a very good experience with great food - and a very good and friendly service. Can be recommended.
This is one of several places in the Place Aux Aires which is the site of the market in Grasse although we were there on a non-market day so it wasn't busy. Chose Le Rendez-Vous as the outside tables were in the sunshine and the other people appeared to be mostly French-speaking couples with young children, so presumably locals. Coffee was very good and about average price for the region - Eur 3 for a large Café Crème - half that for an Americano. The waiter was quick with service but seemed a little grumpy - maybe because they were doing some refurbishment work or something in the restaurant. Good enough for a mid-morning break without being exceptional.
Located in one of the many Squares in Grasse, this restaurant is surrounded by historic buildings, open air vegetable market, and competing restaurants. My Croque Monsieur was tasty and plentiful with lots of ham and Gruyere cheese topping. A plateful of crispy fries and salad greens completed the dish. My wife's Salade Nicoise was abundant and fresh. Our friends had coq au vin which was deemed just adequate. No white meat only dark. Gravy a little too salty. Our waiter once he heard some in our party speaking English proceeded to ignore us while clearing and resetting 4 tables. Others seated after us were promptly attended to. Heard that this sometimes happens in France but have never experienced this myself. Not too inviting!
Recommended by one of the local shopkeepers and it was a good one. Good location looking over the square, efficient service and good food. Quick with the food but in no rush to push us out. Interesting looking bar so I'm also planning to go back in the evening. Looks like it could be lively. If you find yourself in Grasse, this would be a good place to lunch
We actually ate here last year and enjoyed it so we chose this place again when we visited Grasse for the day. We were made most welcome. Our dog was made welcome and and the waiter sat us near a door he could open so she could lie in the cool while we ate. The food was really good and special mention must be given to the chicken curry risotto which was excellent and most unusual. We did not find this restaurant was overpriced as the food was high quality, the service was prompt and friendly and the location is right on the main square.
