The small guest room is lo... read more When passing, we discovered the chic little restaurant on care through the beautiful handwritten menu. The next dinner was very nice. The small guest room is lovingly and comfortably furnished, the food is freshly prepared and beautifully decorated. The owner/Kook is very nice, helpful and always for a chat. We had a wonderful evening and we're back in any case.

In June 2020 we came to Gera on our bike tour, were looking for a good restaurant and found at the Royal Restaurant. The house with the address Sorge 19 initially proposes a flower shop instead of a special restaurant. The door was closed, but we ran a bell. Then the owner – Mr. King – opens and tells us that he has a closed company today and cannot accommodate any other guests. That's bad luck! What can he recommend to us as an alternative? This is very difficult due to the different tastes and requirements. And that's why he doesn't like it! We were ratless. Then I asked him if it could be possible that we sit quietly in a corner of the restaurant, behave very neatly and eat very well what he chooses for us and brings to the table. Mr. King laughed, asked us and led us to the first floor where some, maybe 5 tables stand. The plant is very original. After we had ordered a drink, Mr. König wrote a menu that reflects the French style of the restaurant. During the consultation on the order a very interesting conversation developed in which we learned that King Everything is in One: he advises, cooks, serves, parses with the guests and is then also the managing director. This can be called “service from one hand in perfection”. Mr. King told us we have to have a little more patience than usual. We did that and were rewarded for it. The food was a poem! A tasty asparagus you could get addicted to. As a main dish we chose cheese medals – formidable! In the meantime there were always short conversations with the Lord King, oscillating between the dining room and the kitchen. The whole was a very special experience! Thank you.
