First and last visit. Ordered soup and entrees (moo shoo pork, orange chicken, fried rice). Soup was delivered quickly. About 2 spoonfuls into the soup, the entrees were delivered without any serving spoons. Clearly, the food had been pre-prepared and sitting. The food was not cold, but cool to the touch. In general, the food was quite bland. The orange chicken was prepared in a rather unique way compared to other Chinese restaurants. The chicken pieces were quite large...each piece had to be cut into 3 bite sized pieces. The chicken was a bit dry. Plus, the wine available is the lowest quality bottling at a price where one glass covered the retail price of the bottle.
My wife and I decided to try Lin's. I had the Orange Chicken with fried rice. A big disappointment in all regards. The chicken pieces were large and required cutting into 4 pieces in order to eat. The breading was bland as was the orange sauce. The fried rice, which was an unusually small portion, had no egg or meat pieces as it should normally have. My wife's Sesame Chicken had the same issues. We do not plan to return as there are better options.
Overall this is good Chinese food. I particularly like the Thai Basil Chicken, not an authentic Thai dish, but very good. I think it is the best Chinese place in Georgetown.
We have been here probably a half a dozen or so times and the food is really good. What prompted me to do a review today is the customer service. My wife ordered something new and didn't like it. We were just going to leave and accept the fact she justdidn't like it but our server insisted they make us a new plate. We didn't complain or ask for this and yet they still wanted tomake things right! This is customer service at its finest.
I’ve been a few times and it’s a great local alternative to Panda Express. I’ve gotten the orange chicken and pad Thai a few times. Portion sizes are about right for lunch. Will definitely go back!
