I ordered a vegan tofu toastie, vegan bean pie, and a raspberry cheesecake. I was unsure about coming here because of previous reviews, but there were plenty of vegan options and the staff were helpful. They also had vegan cookies, a peanut butter hemp slice, and a vegan granola bar on the menu.
I inquired about vegan options since none were visible on the menu displayed on the wall (they did not hand out menus to save paper). The staff recommended the jackfruit toastie, which was flavorful but could have had more filling. I suspect it may have been spread with butter on the outside before toasting. Despite this, I would return in a hurry.
I cannot believe they charge $24 for a meal and an additional $6 if you want to add jackfruit. $30 for breakfast is quite expensive. Many customers were opting for sandwiches because it was the most affordable choice. They were not accommodating with substitutions and the staff interactions were abrupt. I wouldn't return. However, I will give them 3 stars for offering a variety of clearly labeled vegan options.
Great spot and service. A big let down was the store-bought hollandaise sauce, deal breaker unfortunately. For a mid $20s dish, one would expect it fresh, and so they should. Portions were small for the price. Coffee was cold even though we ordered extra hot.
This cafe is to die for! The staff are beyond accommodating and always make your experience feel special. Super generous with their servings too. Only fault is that I wish there was more vegan options but maybe I am being too greedy. Up the Plunge <3
