Very korean restaurant. Food is tasty. The dishes we ordered are traditional with a little twist. The only inconvenience for me, that I can't read and speak Korean, I had a little difficulty reading the menu- English printed so small on menu. Came here for the spicy ribs and cheese but sadly, their menu has changed. There are no cheese dishes!!!! We decided to get the army stew casserole which was decent and spicy bbq ribs (cooked inside and cut up for easy eating). Although the meat looked very dry and not very appetizing, it was surprisingly decent. Food and service was average.

The kimchi jeon was on point flavorwise, although on the slightly less crispy side. The doenjang jjigae was fairly mild and went well over rice with a bit of ssamjang, although I usually prefer versions that are a bit more full bodied.I hope they add more vegetarian items to their menu!
Maybe we just didn 't order the right foods, but overall I wasn 't really impressed by anything we got. I 've been here twice so far and I would probably go again... but it 's not a place that would come to mind as a recommendation if someone were to ask. Service however was very good each time I 've been; unobtrusive and prompt. The vibe is exactly what you 'd expect from a pocha; metal stools and tables with KPop playing in the background. The walls are chalkboard colored with colorful drawings and writing from previous patrons (I assume). There are several TVs playing music videos. It cannot play live TV as they stream the videos to the screens from their computer... much to the chagrin of a baseball fan friend who wanted to watch the Yankees game the night we were there. We ordered the assorted fried platter which came with chicken wings, fries, fried shrimp, onion rings and dumplings. Most underwhelming of all were the fries, which had no flavor and weren 't very crispy. The dish is served with 6 different sauces ketchup, mayo, soy sauce, sriracha... I don 't remember the rest. I wouldn 't recommend this dish. We also ordered the assorted dried platter which came with the requisite squid and cuttlefish among other things. Nothing too memorable, but good enough to snack on as you 're going through bottles of beer and soju (of which they carry all the popular brands as well as the grape and grapefruit flavored).A friend ordered the kimchi and tofu... which was probably the best thing we ordered. That being said, maybe sticking to ordering the classic pocha dishes would be a good idea here. Overall, a fun place to hang out with friends and so far, hasn 't been too crowded in the two times I 've come here.
I love going to Korean Pochas because of the irreplaceable vibe: warm, dimly lit and perfect for having heart-to-heart conversations with lifelong friends! After reading the existing great reviews, I decided to give this place a try. I arrived at 8:30 pm with my party of 5 on a Friday night and we did not have to wait for seats. As the night went on, people definitely started rolling in so I recommend coming in earlier to avoid the late night (drunken crowd. We decided to order the Doshirak (Korean style rice box , budaejigae, seafood cheese dukbokki and stir fried squid and pork. The doshirak was average, and they don 't do the super crazy singing and dancing that Kang Ho Dong does (which is disappointing but also a relief haha . The dukbokki was GOOD. I thought it was delicious. Could 've used a little more seafood but there was SO much cheese which just made me oh so happy. The budaechigae was fantastic and the stir fry dish was HUGE. I was a little skeptical on ordering it because it was $32 but it is HUGE, definitely for sharing! They placed the stir fry on the charcoal grill at the center of the table (usually used for kbbq and mixed together the rainbow of ingredients (beansprouts, onions, red cabbage and it was absolutely beautiful to watch. The peach soju here is also only $10 per bottle, so it is pretty cheap compared to the $15 at other restaurants. Overall a delicious meal. While the food was great, I had to mention that the service could 've been improved. Halfway into our meal, the server asked for us to show our IDs. We gladly agreed to do so until my friend said she left her wallet in the car. We told the server that we were all the same age (25 y.o. , but we will definitely go back to the car to retrieve the wallet if required. The server gave a stern yes, without a smile, which slightly frightened my friends and I. After getting her wallet, she showed her ID to the same server, who looked at it, didn 't give a response and just walked away. A simple thank you would 've been lovely, but was that too much to ask?
