What Alphonse Colin dislikes about Carrybridge:
We were out for a bike ride and stumbled upon this beautiful restaurant. We decided to have a meal here. When we arrived, we found out that the menu for the day was a grill with 5 types of meat and salad for £16. Since we were looking for something lighter, we didn't want to pay for the full meal and waste half of it. The chef kindly allowed us to order from the children's menu, with our choice of one meat, plus chip... View all feedback.

Stopped in for lunch. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. I was very pleasantly surprised as the restaurant itself is just a wee bit tired looking, but please don't let that put you off. We sat outside in the sunshine overlooking the river and it was beautiful. We will be back, deffo.
We went to Carrybridge for lunch and the meal was very good. One of my guests, however, is lactose intolerant and chose the fish and chips that were dairy-free. Here is where the problem arose. Another guest had a meal that was also deep-fried, but not dairy-free. The chefs had used the same equipment for both meals, using the same fryer for both dishes. The waiter was informed about the intolerance and recommended the two dairy-free meals. However, my guest has been extremely ill since the meal on Friday. The food was delicious and my other guest enjoyed her meal, but it is not pleasant when the food recommended to her makes her sick.
