Plateau Wine - Enumclaw
Plateau Wine
Description
Tucked an hour southeast of Seattle in Enumclaw, this intimate wine bar pairs a deeply knowledgeable staff and a curated selection of local and international wines with a cozy, community-focused vibe. Small plates, sandwiches, games, a wine club and private-event service (up to 60 guests) make it a versatile spot for dates, book or knit groups and celebrations. While many praise the welcoming atmosphere and passion for wine, some guests note occasional inattentive service, inconsistent wine presentation and policies that may not suit everyone.

If you're looking to host a private event, this is the perfect venue! We held a party for 60 guests, and it couldn't have been better. Maria was fantastic to work with; she curated an amazing menu along with a great selection of wine and beer. Emily, Andrew, and Maria provided outstanding service throughout the entire event. Thank you for making our engagement party a day to remember!
A beautiful selection of local and international wines as well as a smaller selection of beer. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming. The owner has different games for use there and encourages you to bring food from local restaurants. There is a wine club curated by the owner.
One of the few businesses in enumclaw that believe in science and follow Covid vaccine/mask mandates. It's very refreshing. Wife and I enjoy ourselves here and love the fact that this business cares enough about residents to take this stance. It's very admirable and they deserve our support. Great sign on their door!
Large wines and the owner are very well known and felt at home. He picked the perfect wines for our party.
I thought I had great hopes, I was disappointed. I spent several months in Sicily, so was excited to see a Sicilian red available $20/glass. I asked the owner and he seemed to know about this winemaker and also about the region. I bite the price and decided to try. Unfortunately, it is where things went out of the rails. The bottle was unopened so that it opened the table side. No ventilation, no decanting. He blipped it right in front of me then was never seen again until it was time to pay our bill. Quite sure that he must be embarrassing to serve it as it takes the most safe time to open. I tried to take time to breathe it, but there is only so long a cartridge should sit and wait. While this picturesque place is in a rural city about an hour SSE from Seattle and not especially known as a wine bar “destination”, if you advertise an overpriced wine, be willing to give your customer the quality that the price is offered. It would have been nice if one of the two who work stopped asking if we liked our elections. Nobody bothered what another layer of disappointment added.
