Overall it was an enjoyable meal. For a dinner for 2, the food took strangely long (we waited over 30-40 minutes between the Primi and Secondi)...thought that they had forgotten our meat dish. Although the first bites for each dish were divine, found it was...a bit too salty and rich once you ate more than a few bites. View all feedback.
We went here to celebrate our anniversary. The menu is simple and the food was fantastic. All of it our choices were fresh and tasty. That said, you do pay a premium here as it is a smaller restaurant that only uses top notch goods. It is a casual restaurant (which we were aware of) and if you are looking for a quiet, romantic place, this would not be it.
Corso 32 is raved about and difficult to get reservations. So when we were able to reserve for our wedding anniversary, we were really happy. However, upon arriving promptly for our reservation which we were clearly instructed would only be held for fifteen minutes doors were shut and we waited along with several other customers outside on a windy sidewalk until sometime after the five o'clock reservation. Not a good start! However our server was helpful and the menu, while small, was interesting as was the extensive and expensive wine list. Our meal was indeed excellent, the cooking was first quality. However music was loud, tables very close together and finally no de caffeinated coffee available. The meal was expensive . On reflection, our disappointment was the result of the important elements of welcome being overlooked.
With all the rants and raves we'd heard about Corso 32 where else would we go to celebrate our anniversary. Although the food was excellent, it was very overpriced. $16 for a 6oz strawberry bellini is outrageous!! The food menu prices weren't any better. $35 for 2 small pieces of chicken and condiments, not a good value.We were expecting a more elegant and comfortable atmosphere and was surprised at how underwhelming the decor and furniture was. Sitting on a plastic chair that was coming apart is not my idea of relaxing or a comfortable atmosphere. The tables are so close together you can't help but overhear your neighbors conversations and they yours; and when you need to get up to use the washrooms or leave, good luck getting up without disturbing your neighbor.The service was pretty darn good and I was quite surprised when our server offered to go next door to see if she could get me a lime for my gin and tonic. I declined but that was pretty outstanding in my book!
We visited last night for the first time, and it was exceptional. The flavors were amazing, and the service was outstanding. Definitely giving it 5 stars for...
