Howies Waterloo is located in a beautiful Georgian Dining Hall built to commemorate the Battle of Waterloo at the base of Calton Hill. We serve fresh seasonal Scottish cuisine made to order with seating for up to 130 guests. Open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner, our menu includes dishes such as home smoked salmon, wild Glen Lyon venison, cullen skink, and banoffee pie. Daily specials and set price lunch options are available, including vegetarian and gluten-free choices. We also offer an early dining pre-theatre menu for £14.95 for 2 courses. Our private dining room can accommodate up to 26 guests, perfect for family celebrations, business dinners, or intimate weddings. Additionally, we have a full wedding license for those looking to get married on the premises.

Nestled at the entrance of Calton Hill, Platz Restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience with a Scottish twist. The menu boasts high-quality, delicious dishes, including vegan options. The eating here was good, we had her set dinner for 2 courses for 20 pfund, although we had to add an additional 2 and 7 pfunds, for the beginning of the day and lamb rump. the food was well seasoned, meat or fish were not overcooked or too dry, calamari was not oily, and we enjoyed the makrele pate. more reasonable price overall. we point out that the customer service of our server was below the average, but it was highly chatted and clearly friendly with the table next to us.
Love the sauce that goes with salmon. Great price for amazing dishes and service. Lovely interior as well. Would definitely recommend to families and friends. Thank you for the experience.
My friend led me before 2 weeks to Howies,Waterloo Place,Edinburgh and I enjoyed it so much I took my man with to taste it culinary delights. eating is simply delicious with something that suits every taste and the presentation is perfect. the workers know very well about the food and very attentive without being too persistent. Finally, the lunch contract is great for the price.
A fantastic place to dine! Excellent value and the staff are always friendly and efficient. It's also very convenient for The Playhouse. It’s our top choice every time.
